whale of a time

couldn't ask for a better recall.

actually could have done without the ominous clouds. you the kind that look like they're just waiting to burst, and if you could only somehow puncture them, water would gush out and the sky would miraculously be blue and uncluttered once again.

as i was solemnly watching the gray barrier of cotton this morning, i noticed movement in the water off to my right. even without seeing the shapes directly i knew what they were. i whipped my head just in time to see the two leviathans descend into the blue..or blue-gray. the rest of the day was great. nice slow paced day and another four or five whale sightings just off shore. at least five of them were breaching and a few other were sounding (diving with their tails flipping out of the water).

who says north shore is just for touists?

so last night is the bachelor party for my big brother seki.

all i can say is..."holy crap nadia has him wrapped like a twst-tie around her pinky!" and he's just a smidge bigger than...her pinky.

oh yeah, and "happy birthday to keith and lori!" 2 kudos to shokudo for appeal in decour and maybe one for the originality of their desserts. none for the regular food. ;(

...it's a friday

you know it's friday when:

1) the lights all conveniently turn yellow when you're too far away to speed through (damn ambulances and fire trucks)

2) your brain decides that it only understands "half-speed"

3) the day before was thursday

4) you finally get a modicum of recognition from your word nazi professor but cannot remember how

5) the normally dull reaction from your coworkers is missing as you return to work because...hey, the whole truck's gone!
